Process for Service
Define service processes to optimize machine maintainability and safety
A defined process provides a step-by-step procedure to ensure the equipment is properly maintained and in an efficient timeframe. It provides optimized planning, logistics and workforce management including the number of technicians and tools needed, safety risks and length of time to complete the maintenance.
A defined process ensures service operations are included at the earliest design stage and that maintenance instructions are clear and tailored to the customer’s installation, including:
Service process definition – Defined process steps, operations work plan, assigned parts, tools/chemicals and work force needed.
Service requirements – Operations that require consummation of engineering requirements PMI, FTA, etc.
Service process validation – To avoid clash, find the fastest demount path or identify bottlenecks with simulated maintenance operations. These simulations can also be used in the instructions to demonstrate how the parts should be demounted/mounted.
Work instructions authoring – Author the 3D-based maintenance instructions by creating 3D views with color coding, text instruction, warnings, 2D images, manipulated 3D position, adding symbols, etc.
